seriously though I'm really confused what all the fuss is about with this? like have i not been on wankgate long enough to follow the ~trail of deception~ or something?
but i have some tlv people on my plurk timeline, and i almost never see that group mentioned, and even if they're there, that's still a pretty small percentage.
wankgate you're so much more entertaining when your wank makes any fucking sense.
It is stale bullshit. There's always at least one anon who brings it up and masturbates furiously to the idea, even though the connections are incredibly weak at best.
For example, Takh only joined TLV after leaving hocave. Rei hasn't been associated with them for years. There is no Claire in TLV anymore and the only Claire I've ever known there was definitely not associated with that group.
Yet there's always one anon who seems to think that if they cry about it enough, someone will say, "By God, you're right! What a fucking conspiracy!"
tlv is the proto-holly heights. which means their wank isn't going to be on the open in places like plurk.
instead it happens behind the scenes in private messages and chats/chatrooms.
it's also tough to really get tlv wank out in the open because every time someone tries a couple of screaming tlv anons always come out with torches and pitchforks raving about how great their game is and how anybody who dares speak ill of their beloved game is a pathetic grudgewanker.
take rabid tlv anon below ranting about a player that hasn't even been in the game for a year. these people might act nice, but they absolutely fucking nuts and they never let anything go.
You wouldn't know it if you weren't familiar with them, but this behavior is pretty much textbook hocave. Nothing is ever their fault, everyone else is a wanker or an idiot or otherwise the problem. They've been doing this to everyone who gets on their bad side for years, go read past tlv/multiversal threads for some good examples.
(by "ayrt" i mean the da who opened with "seriously though")
doubt i've managed to hit every thread, but i've read a lot of them, and there's sure as hell some shit in the multiversal threads, but it mostly seems pretty contained to that game... unless it's just not getting repeated because people feel like it would be redundant to list it again in the tlv threads? but based on what is observable via wankgate (and sort of plurk), there's multiversal, and then there's a separate game which happens to have some hocave/friends-of-hocave people in it, or has had them in the past.
whether some members of hocave finding a game ~worthy of their attention~ is in and of itself damning to the game is kind of a ymmv thing, i guess. for me, it still seems like kind of a stretch — or at least it's one to say they're sister games.
You're right, a lot of the wank in the Multiversal threads is specific stuff that's contained to just that game. But a lot of the same type of wank at Multiversal goes on, or has gone on, at TLV too, and isn't repeated either because it's too old or because the victims in question just want to put the whole experience behind them. A staple of Hocave/Rei's playbook is to make whoever their target is feel like the lowest scum on Earth, that they deserve what they get because they're just horrible people. Basic bully/abuser tactic, except they sugarcoat it with an SJW veneer.
The reason why people keep saying Multiversal and TLV are sister games is because Multiversal is the home of Hocave and TLV is run by one of Hocave's founding members. In recent years TLV has also become kind of a haven for excommunicated Hocavers as they have a habit of turning on their own. Which wouldn't be so bad, if those excommunicated Hocavers weren't still the same nasty, bullying people they were while they were in Hocave.
Hocave's like any other group of wankers, basically: avoid them and you're fine. It's just that it's hard to do that when they're actually running the games in question.
OK the problem with these threads though is that in all the time I've been following rpanon/wg, absolutely no one has been able to come up with RECENT deets for TLV (not hocave or multiversal) or the mods in the last several months. Anon below mentioned milbury and that's also the most recent major thing I can think of and that was ages ago. The only thing I can think of that's happened since then was the events around Meredith's leaving.
So instead the game gets dropped and all the anons go WEH WEH HOCAVE WEH WEH REI WEH WEH but no one can actually point to anything and say "this is legitimately still happening" and we just get stupid wank over A: things that happened years ago (like that anon leaking stuff from her journal in 2006) B: things that happened in other games or C: things that happened in museboxes.
You're missing the point here, anon. If you go back and compare TLV/Multiversal namedrops to namedrops from other big-name wankgames, you see there's a lot fewer namedrops for these two, more so TLV. You also see that in a good number of the TLV namedrops, screaming TLV anons are there in seconds trying to shout down anyone with a dissenting opinion. This goes back to the Hocave/Rei tactic of trying to silence anyone who's had a bad experience with TLV.
Has TLV been quiet these past few months? Yeah. But that's not so much because of any of the problems going away as it is because the influx of new players has steadily been decreasing. I remember the days when the 20-app limit was always getting hit and requirements to get in were strict. Now they're letting in wankers like Murder and Kevin because they're so desperate for fresh blood. Maybe Rei decided at some point she can't just run off anyone she doesn't like, but given her history, that's not too likely.
It's also still relevant in light of Hocave's increasingly cannibalistic behavior and the number of former Hocavers migrating to TLV. People like Takh and Jessi. They haven't done anything too wanky since coming back, but they were members of Hocave for a reason. Same thing with Rei. Everyone talks about how she hasn't been in Hocave for a while, but what no one talks about is that she still acts just like she did back then. She's still batshit, still hates anon, etc.
I think the crazed reactions of TLV whiteknights in this thread and the Ari namedrop thread below illustrate better than anything else that while TLV hasn't had any huge wanksplosions like Milbury's flounce or the Rycca thing lately, it's still full of crazies who'll shiv you the second you look at them wrong. Playing in TLV is like trying to walk through a minefield sometimes, and it's been that way for a while.
Okay, lol, you need to... step back or something. 99% of the reactions here are "they aren't that bad" or "please provide fresh fucking deets." The only screaming I ever see is "this isn't true" "can you prove it" or "PLEASE PROVIDE FRESH FUCKING DEETS."
TBH you anons who keep insisting on the Multiversal+Hocave/TLV connections are the ones who look crazed when you keep insisting on stuff like this.
You're ignoring the fact that there is a connection between Multiversal+Hocave and TLV, in that both games are run by Hocavers (in Rei's case, a former Hocaver) and that both games employ the same style of trying to bully, shout down, and otherwise silence anyone who has something negative to say about the game. The TLV anons here, whatever they're screaming, are the proof in the pudding.
People who have nothing to hide aren't defensive, anon. If none of this had any merit, why are these TLV anons flipping out?
