What happens if my partner-player breaks the rules, or wants to drop their character?
Unattached characters are not allowed in the Shipping Port, so an unfortunate consequence of one half of a pairing dropping is that the other character will have to leave, too. All incoming players are strongly advised to discuss their plans for the game with their partner-player to ensure they're on the same page before applying.

So you're forced to drop the game if your partner does. That sure sounds shitty.

i don't really care, there's games out there that only allow video games and animated characters only, why is this any different? or games that heavily discourage non LA with requiring LA PBs for animated characters.

still it would be funny to do something like.. app a character from Supernatural and use icons from the anime.

The premise of the game is playing out ships with the person you app in with. So not allowing animus and video game characters? That's a lot less about not playing with them and a lot more about not wanting to see them play with each other. Or, god forbid, seeing someone play out a cross-medium ship!

If the mods and their buddies are so hyper fucking sensitive that they can't deal with people playing out ships that they don't like the looks of, even when it's not interfering with their own ships, then it's pretty much guaranteed that this place will be a hive of tantrum throwing dramatics, whether animus are included or not.

Bring this hot mess on, man. This shit will be fucking hilarious.

Okay here's my thing. Wankgate is always telling people that if they want a game that only focuses on and only allows the things they want, why don't they just make it.

Then someone does and you guys flip your damn shit about "Oh no they don't want to be a game accessible to every person on earth how terrible!"

Have you ever considered that every game does not have to be accessible to everyone? Hell, I'm a mod and when I tried making everyone happy in my game it started to flounder, it was only when I started saying "If you don't like this you don't have to be here" that it started to thrive.

If you don't like something about this game then just don't join it. Not every game has to be one-size-fits-all.

In before LA whiteknight, I only play from anime and western animation. So yeah I'm a little bummed because I like the premise but it's not like I'm going to lose sleep over it.

Am I the only one who's noticed that the rules as written allow for print-only comics, which would include manga? Nothing there would stop you from apping Sailor Moon as long as the drawing didn't move. I mean, yes, obviously the intent is to ban anime and video game characters, but a lot of those have printed comics. And on the other hand, since they seem to be down with western comics, you could have Batman as drawn on a page but not Batman from the animated series.

It's possible that by "print-only novels and comics" they'd be trying to ban that, but the fact that all those superheroes have an animated adaptation or six and may in many cases have started as a cartoon means they'd in fact be banning those characters if they tried to spin it that way.

I just love it when people try to talk around whatever it is they're trying to do and end up with totally incoherent results that accomplish nothing like what they wanted.

as stupid as the "live action only" rule is, absolutely nothing of value is lost. it's a game for people who want to rp grossly out of character buttsex. all of the rules are completely pants-on-head stupid. you have to drop if your ship partner drops? what is even the point of playing in this game as opposed to just doing a psl or a musebox or something?

honestly, i'll be avoiding anyone who plays from this fetid abortion of a game.
