I think the majority of memes would do better on average if they were moved to once a month. TFLN is an exception and the recent memes like the mistletoe meme exploded most likely due to their infrequency.
you do realize the choice is not between piles of unnecessary filler or one-word 'blink' replies, right? that you could include actually relevant content in your tags instead? eesh.
yeah, this is true, and that's why i said 'when we're both playing from it'. of course that stuff is helpful for people unfamiliar with the character, but if i'm psling with a canonmate, i really really really do not need any recaps there.
I don't feel like it's irrelevant content, though! It's fun to write and, hopefully, provides a hook for the other player to respond to. I like to treat an RP thread as forwarding some bigger goal in their CR, or for the plot at large. Of course I vary post lengths based on what needs to be said, but sometimes there's just so much set up to do... and that's fun to me!
In any case I was blowing my gasket more to provide the polar opposite of op's complaint than because I felt personally attacked. It's another example of play styles that don't match up, necessarily, in which case I imagine that if OP and I were in a thread, we'd leave off and find other players better suited to our styles. Or maybe that we chatted oocly if we were feeling invested enough to try to make it work.
