and it's finally getting to the point where even white people are seeing a movie like dunkirk and coming away saying "i couldn't tell which was which, they were all brown-haired white english boys."

they sort of wanted him to be the savior (the prince that was promised), which is they they named him aegon targaryen. after the 'prophecy'.
you're more likely to get tags on a tdm than on bakerstreet too. i doubt even half the people on here are actually going to reserve, let alone app.
i get kind of ass blasted over this because there are two wildly different schools of thought on this and they do affect others.
on side a, you have people that are so desperate for any kind of actual play, they play on a tdm. they're guaranteed to get play there and they have zero intention of apping. they just want to play. i get it, but tdms are not a replacement for bakerstreet.
on side b, you have people that already freak out if there's more that one version on a tdm or won't bother with a tdm if there's 'their' character on it already and won't app into the game because they take tdms as 'dibs'. there are also those who use the tdm as 'proof' that they've been reserve sniped because 'we were on the tdm. didn't they see? we/i wanted to app'.
no one can tell anymore because tdms are being used in place of bs memes. i really wish people with zero interest in the game would stop playing on the tdm, or that people would stop saying this is a good thing to do because it's 'just a tdm'.

come on anon. a quick google can tell you that the uk at that time was super duper white. immigration didn't really kick in until the 1950s and the uk is 87% white even now.

I think it would make a good murdergame if you figure out how to handle the dream/waking world divide.
Ishiwatari's composition is so fucking good, they deserve a better game. I get Blazblue is kind of a 'relaxing' game for him to just jam out some pretty slick music, but Guilty Gear shows that he's waaaay better at character writing than Mori's "I have a genderbending gary stu who gets to kiss my waifu" trash.

i haven't seen the film but if this image is an accurate representation of the main characters, then i can see where it would be difficult telling them apart.

They apparently find it really important that we're friends. We don't talk, ever, and I have them unfollowed so... it just doesn't matter that much.

It started off with the potential to be good, I initially liked how they showed how he deduces things - looks less ass-pull and it looked really slicked. But then just the way they keep crowing that Holmes is a Sociopath like it's a good thing and just the completely shitty way he treats everyone around him and everyone just taking it. Then there's how stupid the Deduct-o-Overlays end up, how he keeps lording over how much smarter he is than everyone else, and just Moffat's writing.
Holmes in the books can be pretty careless with people's feelings, but he genuinely gives a damn about people and gets pretty torn up if someone gets hurt because he makes a mistake, and doesn't lord his abilities over others - he genuinely wants to teach his methods, but doesn't have the temperament to be a good teacher.
A Modern day adaptation can be good - Elementary showed it, I wanted BBCLock to be good in a different way, but it just 'asshole detective show'

Guilty Gear may have a plotline that is arguably just as complicated/convoluted, but Ishiwatari's character work carries it along *miles* better than Mori's did in Blazblue. even Ishiwatari's waifu-bait (pretty literally applied in Elphelt's case) characters are significantly better. they're just night and day.
and while Ishiwatari can't write a bad tune to save his life, it's obvious how much better his work is when he's also writing and creating the characters associated with the music.

as someone who complained about this, here are my 0.02$. it is actually historically accurate that they are so interchangeable and adds to the atmosphere of the film.
on the other hand, even if it was done deliberately, some of it is the on the people in charge of the film for not thinking of ways to make characters distinguishable. when you've got a lot of similar looking people doing similar looking things in high-intensity situations with grimdark lighting, they're going to get confused. it's also a film, so the time the audience has to see and identify each character is pretty limited, which doesn't help.

I might reveal myself here, but I will forever be salty about the DN Angel anime not getting a second season, but also for it being such complete garbage that it doesn't deserve to exist in the first place.

i was once in a game with riku's player a few years ago and as far as i can remember the player is flakey to the point she should have stuck to psls, but was otherwise harmless? i think the rest of the ygos overreacted because they didn't get the cr they were expecting and rioted because of it.
i'm the opposite. i absolutely can't stand people on side b, and anything that drives those fuckers off is a good thing.
Yeah, Elphy and Dizzy are definitely very waifu-y but it feels like they're more than just to satisfy someone's fetish, and the convolutedness feels more... idk? Natural and a result of characters doing shit, while Blazblue it feels like it's convoluted for the sake of looking deep and intricate when it's really not?

nah, i get that. but it just keeps feeding into why tdms are pointless. you see people calling them unwelcoming and no one's tagging them, wah. a lot of people avoid tdms because they're concentrating on stuff in their game and don't want to waste time on stuff that might not even pan through when they have actual game shit to deal with. it's a self feeding cycle. game players don't play/look on the tdm because of wanting to concentrate on game tags, and people complain that a game is unwelcoming because of a lukewarm or non-reception on a tdm. all this talk about tdms makes me hate them, and i've stopped using them and looking at them for my games.
