don't worry, anon, i'm sure she's crying to her friends right now about how ableist and classist we are for thinking that her glorious disabled and poor ass doesn't deserve ALL the nice things! uwu
i feel like that's a bad rule tbh. if you're gonna have a cut-off in between your month ac period, you may as well just have a shorter period and spare yourself complainers.
alternatively some games say the thread must have begun in the month of the AC period. so a thread from february, even with march comments, won't be counted.
ah that explains things really well, thank you! i think i was having difficulty understanding how just having an animal around helped with things like depression and trauma, but the stuff about keeping to a schedule, having someone depending on them etc makes a lot of sense in that context
it's always shitty when good things that can help people get co-opted by shitheads who just want excuses for things or want to feel special, so i feel you there
i don't play from sns and i don't care to tag anyone whose idea of shounen is "powerlevels" rather than "runs in a shounen magazine"
where this stuff about ~respecting preferences is coming from is baffling to me because obviously i wasn't tagging this person and i don't play from that canon to begin with
the point wasn't that the series is special, the point was that the series is a shounen but doesn't have any superpowered characters...
that was literally the only thing i was saying anon, just that shounen is not a genre devoted entirely to being the most powerful worlds-destroying dragon ball-shitting millenium whatsadoosit. haikyuu is a shounen, all they do is play volleyball. shokugeki no souma is a shounen, they just cook. that's what i'm saying.
No hiatuses. If you can't make AC, you have to come talk to the mods BEFORE AC goes up and explain why you can't make AC that month. Then it's up to the mod's discretion if you fail AC or not.
i get what you're saying, you're not getting what i'm saying. which is clear from both this comment and the other one you made about "not getting it".
it's not all about fighting and over powered characters, but op explicitly stated that that they don't want to rp with people from shonen anime because of the players behavior. arguing that this shonen anime is different somehow is just supporting the fact that shonen fans can't be told no. i don't understand why this is so hard to grasp.
i even said in a comment above that anon has issues with the overpowered mc stereotype rather than shonen specifically. i acknowledged the point you're trying to make in a comment before you even showed up here, but i didn't start listing examples to prove the op wrong i just said it was driving force behind their preference.
and i said i'm sorry they had to deal with that shit and moved on to another discussion with a different anon. until you showed up here.
shonen players tend to be the worst at playing cooperatively, and trying to rules lawyer shit so their monkey d sasuke-ichi-goku-yugi-san, pharaoh of the hidden gundam balls, always comes out on top because "that's how it is in canon weeeeeeehhhhhh"
I'll take a neckbeard yammering about titty circumference over having to deal with yet one more butthurt shonen rper who tries to dominate everything and argues with me about my game's power nerfing rules
op: shounen players are annoying and argumentative, they don't cooperate you: but x shounen doesn't have powers!

the behavior they're talking about here is rules lawyering so that their character always comes out the winner because their character is superpowered as fuck in canon. did you even read their comment? they flat-out stated this is about the behavior of people playing overpowered characters, which is silly to conflate with shounen characters because shounen characters don't always have powers.
it's like you graduated from the trek school of poor reading comprehension and pointless combativeness.
i read it just fine but it does kinda get lost in your weird belligerence over nothing
if OP is going to use the term shounen to mean one specific archetype, obviously people are going to point out that their usage isn't correct. that's not being a shounen fan, that's not disrespecting preferences, that's being on the fucking internet where people are going to correct you if you misuse a word.
this is a dumb argument, but let's boil it down to another medium.
let's say someone didn't want ocs, and happened to voice that one of the reasons was because of sparkle mary sues that were overpowered. along comes an oc player who has blandy mcnoabilities to argue that 'not all ocs' have powers or weird worlds and could be perfectly normal.
not all ocs, no, but maybe op just doesn't want to play with ocs in general because of the way that the players get too invested in them. and as they stated in their original argument, it was more the way the players reacted to their characters over the characters themselves. and then a player comes along and proves that point.
I'd still place a flat ban against it, based on your "but MY shounen isn't like THAT" attitude here. shounen rpers are some of the most obnoxiously argumentative assholes I've ever had to deal with, period, whether the character they're playing is overpowered as fuck or a powerless nobody. it doesn't matter. I've dealt more with overpowered fuckheads because they have the biggest negative impact, hence why I included them in my initial example, but your super talented amazing bestest-chef is just as annoying
nobody's proving anon's point because anon's point was about cooperative playing, rules-lawyering about power nerfing, and making their character win
we're not in a game right now and we're not playing with each other, we're in a wankgate thread where OP used a blanket term to mean a specific archetype of character
