how does that Rip keep getting away with meeting AC by posting an open log and a boring dumb network post, tagging it for a couple of days and then dropping it? the AC rules state that mods will come down on players who abuse the open posts like this but Rip has been doing it for months and somehow hasn't been kicked out of the game

before "go to the mods", the mod team clearly knows about it since they're the ones letting her do it

if someone posted to game pet peeves "someone in my game is squatting and breaking the game's ac rules but the mods are letting them for some reason" the replies would be very different, idk what it is about dup that makes anons here so viciously defensive

i really sincerely don't mean this in a shitty way but seriously to the people who post about that rip every time duplicity's ac comes around: have you considered raising an issue with the mods regarding it not feeling fair that this is the only way they seem to be engaging in the game?

okay but are you saying "they know" because they have actually been told and declined to take action, or are you saying "they know" because it's been complained about on wg before?

because if it's the latter, sorry to tell you but mods are a) generally too busy to independently track the activity of all their players in a big game like dup and b) unlikely to act based on people bitching on wankgate, if they have any sense

pull up your grown-up britches and report this person if you're that upset about their activity, anon.

as someone in game: the mods are actually really on top of ac usually and well aware of when players are trying to use loopholes to get around the rules. if they haven't done anything despite rip constantly abusing the ac requirements then either they've decided to let it slide or there's something else going on

they're being linked to her ac every month, they don't need to go digging for evidence

what's fucked up is that the Rip is allowed to keep doing this month after month while someone else posts a thread that's 80+ comments long and that doesn't count for AC because they don't "combine" proofs

and before anyone says why not bring this up with the mods

it has been brought to them and they get immediately hostile and snippy and just repeat the "we don't combine proofs" line over and over without seriously listening to anyone's concerns

the AC system at this game is just fucked up and broken and it keeps getting brought to WG because the mods are too rigid, bureaucratic, and hostile towards their players to make changes that would make it work better

I don't care about a character I've never heard of making AC but can +1 that the mods of this game have been completely fucking atrocious in every dealing I've had with them.

good luck to anyone who wants to try and communicate anything to this mod team. they refuse to listen to feedback and treat players like they're dirt on their shoe. I wish the mods who clearly don't enjoy their job or talking to players would just let someone else take over because dealing with them is the worst part of being in the game.

gotta agree with this. i love my cr and the events are fun, but the mods can be so rigid and inflexible. whatever happened to working with the player so they have as much fun as possible? i don't mean say yes to every single idea, but try to do so whenever possible, at least.

i know someone who dropped because their character was a doctor, and the mods said that most, if not all of their business HAD to come from LIERs. no natives to keep the character busy during the 99% of the time when PCs didn't need medical attention. is it really so fucking hard to say "the locals are wary of a LIER doctor, but will go to see one anyway"? this is the kind of thing i mean.

it really does feel like getting stonewalled every time you go to the mods with an idea. and they take things so literally, like if you link a pic to them for your character's housing they seem to think that's actually what the housing is going to look like and will make judgements based on it though it's supposed to just be an example of the style!

what gets to me the most is when they don't put any of this info up front so players often make mistakes and only find out that they can't do something when it's too late to take it back. this plus the fact that it usually takes ages to get an answer from them means that you might have an idea for a plot and get excited and everything set up only to find out the consequences aren't what you wanted and now you're stuck playing out something you don't want to do or scrapping it completely

(before someone comes in with 'take this feedback to the mods' the above reasons ^ are why feedback never works. every player idea is met with 'no we won't do that' or promises that it will be done that never turn up. there's no point trying to tell them anything when they won't listen)

what i hate most is how this makes no fucking sense internally speaking.

you mean to say that the entire city of billions of people is so xenophobically racist to the PCs that they wont even see them on pain of fuckin death.

what does that even mean for people in less serious jobs trying to run their cafes or whatever, 200 PC characters does not a separate economy make when no one has any money to start with.

why the fuck isnt the entire player character population living in character slums pooling their last $5 for bread at the rate of upheaval that happens in events, if not just out and out planning their glorious revolution.

maybe it's because of the person previously mentioned but in the faq now you can't even interact with or mention duplicity's children population without being auto warned/banned

on one hand it's a good way to avoid creepy convo but... who is having the creepy convos that need this weirdly rigid rule?

I remember when I first joined this game the mods were so willing to work with anyone and everyone to help them do what they wanted most.

this mod team is the complete opposite to the point of blocking people from doing anything real in the game.

Players pushing the limits could have had a hand in this also. I don't play at Dup but I remember the wank that happened when someone decided to handwave themselves a mansion with no actual IC work. Isn't that when they started ruling that people had to report ic acquisitions or something?

If you're trying to run a dystopia and your players are trying to turn it into a slice of life sandbox, there's probably going to be conflict there.

I've been disappointed by every interaction I've had with this mod team. I've never tried to do anything crazy, but every question I've ever asked has been met with hostility. They respond as if they look down on everyone who is trying to participate in their game.

I've been in this hobby for years and I hate asking them questions. I feel more uncomfortable with them than any other mod team. They want you to know you're bothering them.
