i don't mind people who occasionally make fun of their character or the ridiculousness of their canon. that's normal. but when someone is consistently going every single day in every plurk about them, 'they're trash, they're gross, i hate them, i want them to die, i'm gonna make them suffer, they're a dumpster fire, i'm gonna make sure they're never happy, nothing good is ever going to happen to them in this game' i start to wonder.....do you even LIKE the character you're playing?

all you ever do is shit on your own character and act like they're the most miserable person on planet earth. this combined with how bland and boring your tags are when you write them make me question what's the appeal of playing them for you.

This website is mostly women so their child-like reactions to their friends having children is... idk it's definitely strange and immature.

this site is literally filled with autistic people who are allergic to change, as well as the female equivalent of incels

combine those two things and you have adult babies who believe that anyone who ages out of this hobby or at least has to put their real life obligations (especially if those involve marriage and/or children) before rp are lying at best and traitors at worst

all the energy you guys are pouring into dragging these new changes on wg could have been spent answering your existing tags and developing cr with new players and characters. then you’d all qualify for plot coins.

the mod team made it clear that they’re taking feedback about the new changes and will assess how things are going in a few months. calm down.

i think part of it is attitude. on both sides.

whining that someone can't rp or chat online with you much because they have a kid to focus on is a really bad look.

but similarly if someone's saying that since they're a mother now they don't have time to waste on immature online hobbies, they shouldn't be surprised when people who enjoy those hobbies pull away. you can choose to prioritise other things (and should, if parenthood is one of them!) without denigrating the stuff you used to do. all in the phrasing.

i like hearing people's parenting stories though, because i like kids but don't have any of my own.

It's harder for me to sympathize maybe because I married someone from dwrp. It's easy to grow and change when you're sharing it with someone who understands you. Our hobby just isn't that important. No reason to get so butthurt that people have more important things to do than online barbies? Shouldn't that make sense?

weird and regressive of you to assume that women who don't want to have children or get married is somehow more significant than if the community was mostly male

maybe some women in this community are tired of being told that having kids and a husband is a requirement of adulthood or a full life

agreed, it's online barbies and it's unimportant. but no hobby is important by comparison to people's jobs and families and real priorities.

i think a lot of us are autistic nerds with past experience of being told that the things we enjoy are stupid and wrong and a waste of time. so some of us are more sensitive about it than we probably should be. that's why i said it's about phrasing. got actual important things taking up all your time and don't want to rp anymore? totally understandable. go do them. no need to make people who still rp feel shitty about it by saying negative things. obviously not everyone does this! but some do, in a way i haven't seen from people who give up offline hobbies because they have more important commitments.

I have literally never seen any mother say that they 'don't have time to waste on immature online hobbies.' I'm sure they exist, but it sounds like that person would have been insufferable before kids. It's more likely to see moms get upset over having so much less time to themselves.

fwiw three if my best friends I've made via dw/ljrp have been moms. one doesn't rp anymore but that wasn't just bc of her kid and she still has plenty of fun hobbies (we're still Facebook friends and she just posted some awesome cosplay she's working on with her kid). the other two still do, one with a very young child and one with a much older one, and regardless of if they gotta take a break for a while to focus on that I'm always happy to talk to them and hear about their life and tag when they have the time.

good luck with your family, I'm sure most of your rp friends will be reasonable about it, wankgate isn't actually a barometer of what most people think.
