i'm literally a cis bi white woman. i deal with cringe gold star boomer gays not believing bis exist by not giving a shit. i'm sorry but get some fucking perspective. the cringe gays are never going to deny you housing or threaten you in a bar. like if this is someone's biggest problem they absolutely are very lucky.

People making snarky anon comments telling you to get a grip is not proving anything. This isn’t oppression, this is wankgate.

i'm also a cis bi white woman. i don't believe in minimizing someone's experience, particularly when they never said that biphobic responses from the lgbt community are the same or on equal scale to systemic oppression from straight communities. they just said in their personal experience, they've so far experienced the worst biphobic reactions from lgbt members. what are you trying to say, that anon should shut up and not talk about it because their experience, which is relevant to the thread topic of pride month plurks, isn't on par with the killing and homelessness of lgbt people, which no one previously alluded to or brought up?

question to people in this thread (not you in particular):

when we talk about things like homelessness and violence in the lgbt community, what does the b stand for? are bi women not at risk of the same things as the other letters? one example given was being fired for going to a pride parade, would a bi woman be exempt from that? can bi women not be beaten up or killed for expressing interest in the same sex? why does being with someone of the opposite sex sometimes erase these threats that the lgBt community faces?

honkai OCs actually make sense since the game setting works for it, as the player character is literally traveling the galaxy and visiting new planets. just have someone show up from some planet they made up.

Da

There's no way someone can ever have that many muses and be good at characterization. Their writing and character voice is flat as hell and not engaging.

It figures they would be so into blank slate protagonists they can do the most basic self insert harem shit with.

It's just annoying how obviously self insert they are and how the player uses them to get quick cr while having meta knowledge of the character. I dislike canon ocs for this reason.

i've never seen an episode of hazbin/helluva, but from what i've seen on the internet i actually love the character designs. they're fun to look at.

plenty of fan OCs "make sense" for their setting. that doesn't mean we want to play with them

Re: da

oh i agree, im one of them. honkai at least feels the least shoe horned in.

tbh you could probably set a game in the star rail universe. instead of magically appearing in some contrived set up, just have aliens are real and they end up taking a spaceship to some planet. you’ve got gods, some sort of magic system already, and a bunch of “events” where you can go on planetary excursions and so on.

how populated a given canon's setting is for fandom oc fabrication is like the least pressing issue ppl have with fandom ocs and you know this

the notable case ive seen running around bakerstreet lately isn't even just some rando from a new planet, oh no, she's also "a porter on the Express, you know, the one that all the main Express-riding characters should totally know" and also "the Emanator of an Aeon the player made up wholesale who's super powerful but that's a secret and she has ~angst~ about it" and "once saved the train from a massive body of water with some of those super powers it was really cool whoa" and

i mean you know it just goes on

Re: da

(Anonymous) 2024-06-03 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
actually disagree, but for a different reason: ocs most make sense in highly-developed settings with almost no characters. still wouldn't play with one myself, but i'd understand if someone took a look at a great setting with 1-2 developed characters and said "i want to do something else with this."

but in a gacha game with 500 characters, if somebody can't find a single one they vibe with more than their oc, imo that's at least a yellow flag

homophobia does not mean what blue thinks it means (https://deerington.dreamwidth.org/211336.html?thread=50479240#cmt50479240)
how do make money again? (https://sail-ooc.dreamwidth.org/6231.html?thread=1581655#cmt1581655) [extra context: this game setting does not use money]

Re: BLUE / WEEFOLK

(Anonymous) 2024-06-03 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
that's her.

the words weirdly half-italicized are a giveaway. as is writing "there" as "thar" which I find annoying not least because it's not even an accurate representation of the character's accent.

i applaud the tenacity of that one black elf with blue hair oc I've seen on bakerstreet. i would shrivel up and die of embarrassment if i tagged a character only to be skipped over for someone else
