this is literally what folkmore is like, except they don't force you to go slower if you want to move at 1:1. but it does allow for slower than that without it causing issues with timeline. more games should be like that imo

it's not because they're wols, i'd reject anyone hoping to start off in a game from a blatantly non-canon AU. would you let someone in if they decided their character was a vampire for no reason?

i'm sorry but if you can't keep up with a 5 comment ac game that has a single event per month then you have no business being in a game period because that's already as slow and low-commitment as it gets.

if they just keep fiddling with the expectations and shaming people just right they'll eventually find the setting that lets them rp without actually having to rp.

as someone who is considering rping as one of the bg3 origin characters and doesn't mind tavs but would really prefer to avoid this one. can i ask are they are very active on bakerstreet and tag out a lot or is this person just a top levels then leaves the meme type.

if both players are on board with it then what's the problem? how is it any different from two players who come in with canon characters and decide to play the the characters as already being together even though canon neither confirms nor denies this?

I can't remember if this is the same game but I remember someone trying to make a game like this and they were actually allowing people to hand in activity check comments that were just a summary of plurk plotting posts and ideas for what their character had been doing, and they would count it as RP activity.

what's funny about this comment is "welcome to dwrp" gags aside it's pretty revealing of how much we talk about wols on wankgate vs. how much the average dwrp player actually thinks about or even interacts with wols

like why is wankgate so obsessed with wols? they seem to come up literally every single post. i kind of suspect that one of the regulars here has a bug up their ass about them and constantly brings them up and that's how we ended up this way. does gsai really hate wols? is hellion nursing a grudge against a wol? what is going on here

if it's the one with a reputation for being rancid when they think you won't tell anyone, they are active and tag back, and afaik are constantly seeking threads. since I don't have any firsthand screen caps or anything though, I'll just say avoid the usual red flags of someone who thinks their oc is the hottest most important thing in the world, and you'll be avoiding the crazies anyway.

i know it's a difficult concept vs bitching on plurk or e-begging or getting mad because someone had some ai art or otherwise not doing your tags.

for a non-ff14 example, take levi and and erwin from attack on titan, a ship so popular that a lot of people take it as soft canon. you could argue that canon doesn't necessarily deny it, and i'd agree. if they're both on a tdm and doing a thread that seems to imply they'll ship in the game, that's not ignoring canon to do their own thing: it's potentially following a development that makes sense. if they're cuddling in front of the fire planning out how many kids they'll have and what kind of engagement ring levi wants for their five-year dating anniversary uwu, it's an easy rejection. it's not the shipping that's the problem; it's whether the players are playing their characters believably or continuing their own personal fanfic in a game when they could just psl.

Two players accepting each other's headcanon and rolling with it is not an AU. Shipping characters that are never in a relationship in canon is what we do here. Why is this any different?
