okay so why can't they go to walmart or mcdonald's or any of the ten thousand other places that are currently hiring because i swear i can't walk half a block in my city without seeing at least six different "now hiring" signs

eh i understand it because sadly there are a whole lot of people who just completely lose their own identity once they have kids and become unable to have conversations about anything that isn't their child. i've unfortunately had to drop a number of friendships over this because we just didn't have anything in common anymore, they didn't want to talk about the tv shows we used to watch together or our favorite book series or anything that we had bonded over in the past, it was just all their kid all the time even when you tried to change the subject. it was like they couldn't grasp that the rest of the world doesn't care about their kid as much as they do and that their friends might actually want to still talk about the shared interests over which you became friends in the first place.

wish people would talk about the fact that just because someone is trans doesn't mean they didn't grow up and were raised with stereotypical gendered behaviors like entitlement and that specific male brand of skeevy objectification of women.

transwomen are women and i will fight anyone who says otherwise. but behavior is taught and learned on certain assumed lines like the social expectation of boys to be direct and aggressively pursue what they want while girls are expected to be the considerate and compromising.

you see this sometimes in in afab women yes, but most often the pushiness will be coming from amab women because that's a learned behavior from a very young age. personality is not gendered, and transwomen will always be women. unfortunately, society still raises children on gendered lines and encourages such specific behaviors based on what they perceive.

i can understand that, and it does suck when that happens because there's really nothing you can do. having a child can turn someone into a completely different person that is no longer your friend, and i won't lie that i've never dropped friendships myself over that. it's just their belief that when anyone has a child they completely stagnate and are unable to grow as a person.

but friendships are one thing. this person is talking about their own sibling and how unhappy they are they're starting a family because in their words they are going to "lose" them for twenty years and won't get them back until then.

i can see having that viewpoint if your only experience with friends/family having kids has been the kind where they turned into completely different people that weren't the people you used to know. i honestly thought that was just what happened when people had kids because that was my own experience for a while until a couple of my friends had kids and were still exactly the same as they were before, just with less free time.

same thing holds true where my parents live, which is on the complete opposite side of the country so

i'd pm to see if they were interested in even threading with a close castmate. i've been in the position where i was a lcw with zero interest in castmate cr and someone apped in expecting to be prioritized. a simple pm would've saved them the disappointment of a castmate who didn't want to play with their character and myself the trouble of awkwardly opting out of the CR.

ftr, i'm fine with co-existing with castmates in games. i'm just more interested in exploring crosscanon options.

overall, i prefer having multiple options for each prompt but think the walls of text can be trimmed down a little. still, i'd rather have more to work with than less even if it takes me a little longer to read through it all since i have focusing issues, too.

too many games before this had bland events that just didn't offer enough variety to springboard more than two or three engaging threads. i used to hate top leveling on events because i'd wind up doing more or less the same thread with very slight differences six or seven times. tagging out on events wasn't much better because it was the same three or four thread premises repeated for infinity without much variation.

I live in Europe and there are constantly 200-500 applicants trying to get a job as a cashier or stocking shelves in supermarket, or any other low-paid job.

Last March it was in the news that 800 (!) people had applied for one single job to be a cashier at a movie theatre. There was a 4-stage recruitment process to weed out the "absolute best" candidate. It was a part-time job that pays 10-12 euros/hour.

Companies don't need 'hiring' signs on a window because they can get hundreds of applications just by posting an ad online.
