i used to mod and the way they went about this reads poorly. if a player reported an absent player to us because they had funerals to attend? the reporter would get an outright strike. death outweighs roleplay games

the mod addition that "if it's canon or not doesn't matter" is a bad choice, if that was the heart of the cast conflict in the first place. everyone in the caps needed to calm down and shut the fuck up, but the mods look pathetic at mediation and handling a problem

ftr previous caps don't reveal what it was about anon - there's talk of multiple conversations and cut off screencaps so who tf knows what the report to the mods was about

while family tragedies are tragic, beck really seems to be leaning on the funerals as a sympathy crutch in all these caps, so I don't believe for a second that's the truth of it

I hope Beck and her attack dogs have the day they deserve.

This is just Beck trying to have it both ways. I'm familiar with the situation and Din & Robin were explicitly trying NOT to bother Beck after the family deaths, which you can see evidence of in Beck complaining here:

Lots of complaints about no one reaching out to them while also complaining that they're being judged for taking time off from RP. Din and Robin went to the mods about things Beck actually did after popping up again to be involved, not with a complaint that Beck wasn't active enough. Kri's phrasing here is really bad as a mod but gives better clues as to how Beck's absence was handled:

how is this not a complaint about a player's absence due to deaths? that's what happens when people die, focus changes and your time becomes limited

if the rest of the players were making decisions that affect the whole cast, not reaching out to the absent player isn't the fault of the absent player

being generally absent and then showing up just to cause trouble is a real issue that doesn't imply judging the cause for the absence

also can we not pretend that IC joking about gene roddenberry's feelings about body hair rises to the level of "making decisions that affect the whole cast"

then why flip out ooc and say it's 100% canon? that seems extreme to argue the point when the player looks like they came forward without argument?
