what i saw in the megaplurk were some misunderstandings of how the trait list at ryslig worked, but not any intentional racism. i'd be happy to copy and paste the conversation here so we don't have to assume people are actually clicking or reading that far down on the link. :) i just want to make sure we're seeing the same things.

secondly, there is no acceptable situation where "black" and "bitch" are acceptable trait descriptions for a black woman whether or not those traits are being used to assign a monster. describing a person as simply "black" is meaningless and racist because blackness is not a fucking monolith. that is the part that is racist you idiots

i looked ctrl+f'd for racism in the plurk and what was present were discussions of R (who is japanese) misunderstanding how the trait system worked at ryslig bc it had been a while since they played, and then a particular person trying to get them banned over that misunderstanding. if there are more i'd like to know, because it seems everything else discussing race is on the same topic.

yeah like the advice i was given for the trait list was it had to be supported in the personality section so i (absolutely mistakenly) internalized it as a summary of my personality section because that's mostly how it worked in 2013, the last time i was in ryslig

i completely understood your logic tbh, R, I think the real issue just comes in to because of the way the sorting system works it then puts the mods (which I understand are majority white, if not majority non-black) in the position of choosing which monster aligns with blackness itself

and then the most pertinent question is: what does this have to do with luc? other than him saying that he understood how r got to that conclusion (as another person who is non-white and also non-black) but ultimately didn't want anyone else to perceive r or the mods as racist over this misunderstanding and agreed "black" as a trait was the wrong move?

i'm not here to argue over r's obvious and acknowledged ignorance bc this thread isnt about them, but i am letting you know that luc saying "we are all part of a racist system and every day need to each analyze our participation in that system because we are all capable of being racist without meaning to" is not only true but also not the words of someone who is looking to be racist or enable racism within his friends group.

actions speak louder than empty words. he has never apologized or tried to do any better and acts like he is a victim at every opportunity so neither of them are beating the allegations

are you the one waiting on an apology? it sounds like it. or like maybe you know the people that are? i know for a fact that he publicly made up with at least one person on the megalist, so why do you think he would be unwilling to apologize to anyone else?
