in my experience it's usually a shorthand way of saying "i'm a man but i have certain lived experiences which will inform my thinking" as well as.. just being proud of who you are? like if you read someone saying "oh btw i'm a trans man" as demanding special treatment than that's on you, since it's all going on in your own head with your own assumptions.

also for what it's worth.. trans people do have different experiences than cis people. that's just reality. but that doesn't mean we don't have the right to be treated as men or women the same as everyone else.

someone being proud of being trans isn't something they should be ashamed of or be ridiculed for, imho.

major +1, assuming someone wants special privileges because they're not afraid to say they're trans is drawing a connection that isn't there and exists in your head because of biases
