2.5D culture is considered completely separate from 3D culture in otaku spheres

tokusatsu otaku and anime otaku even have this weird overlap because of seiyuu who work on tokusatsu shows.

there are people who label it LA/3D, but you’ll also get a lot of people who would heavily argue that it is not.

but 2. if I hadn't known, the article linked would have done zilch to explain that, as it goes completely unmentioned. all it does is say "did you know cosplay, plays, and anime tourism exist? here are the years they started" and nothing else.

then why come back to clarify the point? it's getting kind of pedantic. you asked the question. they said yes. you followed up with additional content. they still knew what you were talking about already. will you be satisfied if we start pretending this was all completely new information? like most of us weren't around during the first prince of tennis stages 20 years ago? i can come back as a different anon and pat your butt, if it makes you feel better.
