this is like 90% of all dwrp wank: people projecting their biases and anxieties onto someone else's behavior because they're trying to read the minds of internet strangers they barely know

"x dropped one of my threads once after i said my character didn't agree with them on plurk! they're blurring ic and ooc and they secretly hate me and i need the mods to talk to them!!!!"

People tattle on themselves when they say stuff like this. They only worry about "someone dropping a thread because of a disagreement on plurk" and "they're blurring ic and ooc and they secretly hate me" because it's something they themselves struggle with. Not to say they specifically hate X, but rather they have issues with blurring IC and OOC in other ways and have issues with dropping threads over disagreements in other places.

I don't necessarily think it's projection.

More like, the most common ic/ooc blur is people having their characters express opinions that they themselves oocly believe to be true and accurate. When someone criticizes their characters' take on things, they take it as a personal attack because their character is saying things they agree with.

All you need is a little social anxiety and some kind of apparent external validation (like a dropped thread or failure to respond to plotting posts) to magnify "That person told me my opinions were bad and wrong" into "I'm sure that person hates me personally."
