speaking as someone whose issues have caused me problems in games, the line has to be when they attack others. we have as much right as anyone to play in games and enjoy ourselves, it's great if you can accommodate and be understanding, but the point when someone is attacking others is a hard cutoff point where you have to put those others first.

we were given a screenshot. it was just a 'hey are you okay?' and absolutely did not warrant that kind of response unless there is indeed some kind of greater concept that neither party has deemed fit to share with us.

always assume there's more context than you're given. a single screenshot? there could be months of context that one or both parties are hiding from you. i wouldn't judge based on one screenshot unless it has a lot of detail around the incident itself or there are other separate incidents.

players can and will lie to mods to hide the way they contribute to a toxic situation, especially if it makes them look bad.

yeah okay, but if someone replies to "u ok hun" with "die in a fire bitch ihu" or w/e, and they are not causing social problems more widely in the game, there's definitely history there

suspect everyone. you can ofc get rid of the player if they're a known problem player whenever you like, but try not to fall into some asshole's bitch trap too

think everyone is getting a bit derailed by the detail of the screenshot instead of addressing the core question tbh. they aren't going to and shouldn't give us a play by play of the entire investigation process because it would id the game/player, so pointless trying to troubleshoot the nitty gritty of their decision.

sure. until you do the math that the number of games is pretty slim, op has just said that there was a two-player altercation where one randomly lashed out, then claimed mental health reasons, and one of the players (presumably the one who complained) submitted a screenshot.

that's enough detail that, if you're the players involved, trashing this out now, you'd know it's about you. i bet you wouldn't like knowing that the mod you went to in confidence is now telling deet-starved anons about your personal drama. it's just not a thing mods should do, out of respect for their players.

honestly, they have a bigger problem here than someone falling back on their mental health. you cannot have a mod coming to wankgate, feeding randos any details from an ongoing mod investigation. this is just modding 101.
