to me, this is even more hilarious than if she was dating another boy (no offense to the m/f fans among anons) because writers for shounen series are just not very good at depicting (het) romance with lead characters, when there even is a main girl at all

It's been so many years (over a decade) I feel safe saying this was Naruto, and Sakura got to date Ino. It was the ninja romance of my dreams and Ino was the clearly superior choice to the boys.

i knew it would be naruto lmao, i had a similar experience playing sakura in a game with a naruto and sasuke who were in a ship and tried to milk her presence for drama. i peeked at one of their threads once and naruto was telling sasuke “don’t worry bb, i won’t let her come between us” which was very confusing for me since my sakura had been thoroughly minding her own business

i had a great time! my ino left rp a long time ago but it was one of my fondest rp ship memories. i just remain mildly butthurt that the guys wouldn't even play out team friendship stuff with me. i wasn't into the ships but i loved platonic team 7 stuff and felt very robbed. sakura did get a lot of fun times with ino's team instead tho!
