this doesn't sound strange to me. maybe they liked the idea but not necessarily with you, or they felt self-conscious about hitting you up again

maybe but I'm an incredible writer and they're missing out!

but for realsies yeah it's definitely possible they liked it better as backstory and didn't want to play it out, or didn't feel like we meshed in the thread or whatever. it just felt kinda weird to see all the stuff they built out from the CR we never had
