years ago I was in a game and another player suggested a plot to me where their character, A, would do something pretty twisted and intrusive to my character B, because A was jealous of B for IC reasons and was kind of a shitty person who was the type to lash out. I agreed to this because it sounded like it could be interesting for my character and their CR too. the whole thing went fine at first: A did the thing, B found out about it, their mutual CR found out about it, and A suffered the IC consequences of people being mad at him and losing trust in him.

the part I'm still butthurt about is that A's player never bothered to play out or discuss with me a resolution between A and B, but after a couple weeks or so had passed, started going on about how A had grown so much and was now officially a good dude who had learned his lesson from this experience. A never apologized to B or acknowledged any wrongdoing (but did apologize to their mutual friends). our mutual CR also forgave A without discussing it with B. I didn't really realize this was their idea of the plot's resolution until A's player and all of our other CR seemed to agree that A had fully redeemed himself and I realized everyone else was done caring about it.

I felt deeply cheated that my character's CR all decided to just get over A having violated him and that A's player presented him from then on as someone who had righted all of his past wrongs. I know I should have said something, but the tone of things was pretty clear that people didn't want to play anymore with the drama regardless of whether I'd gotten any resolution, despite my character being the victim in the first place. I considered it and decided I didn't want to make a thing out of it, but it still annoys me years later that no one involved in the plot cared how B felt about what happened to him.

god this happened to me and was so bad i pretty much just mentally retconned it out of my character's history and never brought it up again

worse, people treated my character like the worse person for holding a grudge against A. people even OOCly got upset at me for saying that B wouldn't attend a birthday party A was invited to a week after the incident happened, because apparently being uninvited from a birthday party would be too harsh of a consequence for a murder plot and would make A's player miserable.
