you're overlooking the most simple fix: add them on plurk, then drop literally everything they do here. talk about real life? oversharing. talk about other games? clogging up your timeline with unrelated stuff. talking about your game? no one cares about what their character is doing, they should stop making a zillion plurks about it.

find a reason to namedrop them here once or twice during all this. everyone has something.

et voilà! they won't want to plurk a damn thing any more and you can @ them without any downside. and even if the process doesn't go perfectly, you at least had the pleasure and did the public service of ripping apart someone either you didn't like, you weren't ever going to interact with anyway, or who had at best terrible taste in interests and at worst supported toxic problematic shit.
