on the off chance that your patent stupidity is curable, "all of plurk" is the broad social context, but a particular chatroom is a specific social instantiation. if a rule applies in a chatroom, its a rule. if your oppressive, freakminded requirement that nobody on plurk - all of plurk - uses an @ everyone where you can see it, thats "public policy."

by the way, replying to this with any hairsplitting bullshit means that you secretly known im right and youre sexually aroused by it.

as the person who doesn’t like when people @ everyone i’d like to clarify i meant in discord. op said discord/plurk and i took “@ everyone in general” as on discord, in general chat. that’s my bad.

i still think op can just plurk a hiatus and anyone who cares enough to see will be friended already but maybe that’s a divisive opinion

tbh I think it would be neat to be able to send a dw pm to multiple people without copy pasting. like even just for mod things in games.

am op. didn't mean @ everyone literally, meant more "post a message where everyone can see." my bad on that one.

but i did want to point out my original problem is that i can't plurk it to them. because they are not on my plurklist. which does not mean they don't care, because we have traded other forms of communication that is one-on-one. making a plurk where none of my partners are added, instead of contacting their preferred pms/dms, would defeat the purpose of letting them know i'm about to be gone for a few weeks.
