To a RPer I know in a semi-PSL game: please stop attempting clever and witty characters. You never write this well. If you want to play someone intelligent, please make them academically gifted but perhaps a little more average in other ways. I feel secondhand embarrassment for you every time I watch a non-genius character who just has a lot of common sense and a bit of wit run verbal circles around your "genius".

This would be a lot of fun if you were deliberately writing them as thinking they are a lot smarter than they really are, but...nope. You seem to actually think your characters are responding intelligently when they're coming across as dumb and unsubtle twits with poor reading comprehension.

I think the game I'm in is dying and I'm too busy right now to get into a whole new one so I just have to keep sitting and waiting for things that are out of my control to change. Feels fucking rotten because it's like my RP life is stagnating and I'm seriously surprised about how low this has gotten me. But there really is nothing I can do about it right now.

-So. Mum and the doctor-lady I saw today have come up with a plan for how I will help around the house more and spend less time on the internet.
-I'll have to do certain things every day, and if I don't do them before mum gets home, the modem gets taken to work the next day, therefore cutting out internet.
-I'm okay with this, it's just irritating that the internet is still the WORST THING EVER

Does anyone outside the canon ever pay attention to those "X VILLAIN is actually a TERRIBLE PERSON. HE KILLED MY WIFE/DOG/MURDERED EVERYONE" posts that heroes always make when they realize x villain has either apped or has been there the whole time and the hero either just apped in or just noticed.

I know people bitch about it, but I play villains a lot and it happens to me in almost every game and I've very rarely had any drama come out of it, because most people just don't care.

The twist here is I honestly wouldn't mind drama so long as it's reasonable and not everyone and their dog raining hell on them without warning. A person with close CR to the hero wanting to confront them? Sure. Someone who has been close to MY character wanting to know if it's true or not? Awesome. Hell, I'd like to play out the subtle manipulations of having my Machiavellian character go "who? me? no" when confronted about it and manipulate everyone into believing the hero is a liar.

But I've never seen anyone really do much with it.

I guess to make this less a useless rant, tell me some of your horror stories/complaints about how hard it is PLAYING villains in games, anons.

I see complaints here about plurking more than once about the same topic.

I also see complaints about weeks-old plurks getting bumped and responded to because plurk keeps unmuting them.

So I have to ask, anons, which of these two evils would you rather have? Spammy new plurks about the same topic or old plurks getting constantly bumped and unmuted?

Remember, because of the site's stupid design and failure to fix its own bugs, you can't have it both ways.

I'm pretty sure the complaints about multiple plurks are for, like, within hours of each other, not WEEKS. So you can have it both ways--do a catch-all for whatever topic you're speaking on once a day, and create a new one the next day.
