let's be real that's most people on bakerstreet. that's what ota means

i feel this way about so many niche shipping memes when the ship can still be played out on another meme. making it too narrow means you get less variety of the characters you want, not more.

okay so it's a little more complicated than what I'm about to say but basically the movies currently suffer the problem of 1. less people going to the movies and 2. DVD market gone. the DVD market is how medium budget, experimental movies in particular used to make their revenue. so, we're currently in a landscape where the only go-to-the-cinema movies getting made are the safe, crowd-pleasing, guaranteed blockbusters studios feel comfortable financing, and they're usually from an already-existing IP.

the way I see it, dwrp is experiencing something similar. there are less people, with less time, we don't like taking chances on untried things, so what's the safest bet? the tried and true. the crowd pleasers. people might put their own little bow on it, a little variation, but stepping outside the known format feels doomed to fail, and thus a waste of our "money" (time spent on the game).

correct. that is probably the intention of the poster, they’re not interested in a good meme, they’re interested in narrowing the possible pool of replies to who they want to see. if anyone plays them or not.
