wsj was serious at one point (and other anon is correct that they still do real journalism, as does nyt), but both papers you named have gone downhill, wsj because it's owned by rupert murdoch and nyt because they wanted more money

unless you mixed up nyt and ny post in which case: the ny post has always been a tabloid pretending to be news
