Maybe I'm wrong for it, but I want to give this guy a little credit.

For one, he really does seem genuinely remorseful even if his wording is wrong. From the sounds of things, he didn't realize consent was given out of fear until after the deed had been done. It doesn't take back what it did but it doesn't make his intentions that of someone who actually takes pleasure in raping people. I do wish he'd think his words through a little more and admit that what he did wasn't just "experienced as rape" but actual, legitimate, straight-up rape, even if not what he'd intended to do or thought he was doing.

I honestly don't see his talking about how guilty it makes him feel as throwing himself a pity party or looking to garner sympathy. It seems like someone saying he feels remorse, guilt and sadness over what he's done and wishes he hadn't.

On top of all of that, he donates to charities for survivors and participates in other activities to support awareness and educating young men not to commit the same mistakes he has.

Even better, he's doing the one thing we've been campaigning Ken to do! He's removing himself from roleplay so that we don't even have to exist alongside him.

It just sounds to me like he's doing basically everything one can do to atone for what he's done. Other than what I mentioned before, I'm honestly not sure what anyone wants from the guy? He's sorry, he's promoting awareness and donating to charities and he's leaving DW RP. What else could he do? I'm genuinely curious. He can't take it back or undo it, so what else can he do?

I used to be friends with this guy. We used to be in the same games and stuff, met a few times IRL, etc. I think I may have known the victim as well - and if it is who I'm thinking it is, honey, I'm so, so sorry this happened to you. You and I kind of fell out of the same social circle over the years but I wish I could give you a hug.

I'm so disgusted by Funk right now. He always gave me skeevey Nice Guy vibes when I knew him but I gave him the benefit of the doubt, figured he was harmless enough. I'm appalled at how wrong I was.
