I did that to someone once. It was because they had tight CR with someone I hate and I didn't want to risk being pushed into a situation where I would either have to interact with the person or have to explain to the uninvolved mutual why I didn't want to thread with the person I didn't want to thread with. Easier to just sidestep the entire situation.

For all anons harp on "curate your experience" and "just don't interact with them," anons get really chuffed at the idea that someone might not be interacted with.

pretty much everyone has to deal with a shitty mutuals situation at some point, but turning someone away you'd otherwise want to thread with because there's a chance you'd have to interact with one of their friends is indeed dumb and indicative of an inability to communicate

Just for the sake of clarity, since I didn't mean for this to blow up and that means I probably wrote it wrong:

A is a bitch. She did me dirty and I don't want anything to do with her. B is friends with A and doesn't know the situation because I've kept it to myself instead of being a wanky asshole. B tagged me. I don't want to be within ten miles of A, and I don't want to get into it with a stranger, so I ghosted B. B did nothing other than being friends with someone awful, but B isn't owed an explanation of that. I'm saying airt is B in this scenario.

And now that I've been clearer, anons are welcome to tell me how it could be solved by showing up in B's pms and telling them that their rp is worth more than my comfort level.

Just tell B you don’t want any threads that involve As character if your CR goes that way but you also might to tell A and opt of playing with them in a PM or journal opt out post

I think the problem anons are having with this is that you don't want contact with A but you're implicitly punishing/inconveniencing B for it by ghosting them when they tag you. it's not B's fault you have some sort of problem with their friend but they're the one you're being shitty to.

you should tell B that you have an issue with A and you would like CR with them, but to try and keep A out of it. as long as they're not a raging asshole they should understand. and if they are a raging asshole then you know you're right to avoid both of them.

How do you know they don't want cr? Maybe they're me and I'm often too shy to jump at new people but that doesn't mean I don't want this cr.

I had this exact same experience but it feels like I'm being ghosted by a whole clique of people instead of only one. One person has had the decency to ask me not to tag them. The rest give me one or two pity tags then drop their threads with me.

I'd never interacted with any of them before. I'd never done anything remotely wank-worthy and keep to myself. It's frustrating and alienating. I wish people would just talk to each other instead of remaining silent.

maybe they're just busy with other cr, if you're new to a game sometimes it can take time to break into those circles especially if the game is big and fast, everyone's usually already got established plots they're working on

No this is definitely a coordinated attack

It has nothing to do with op playing an unappealing character or the group of friends being busy with pre-arranged plans or any other reason

These players owe any and all interested cr either a thread of no less than 15 tags per month, or an essay describing clearly and concisely why they should be allowed to opt out of cr with this person

Anything less is bullying and cliquish t b h

if someone asked OP to not tag them, there's probably something else going on besides cliquishness. that doesn't usually happen at random.
